This easy DIY hemp seed butter recipe has only just ONE ingredient! Get to know some cool hemp seed health benefits, flavored hemp seed butter alternatives, and hemp seed butter uses!

I’ve recently begun to integrate hemp seeds into my diet and generously sprinkle them on everything! However, because I’m on a DIY nut and seed butter roll, I decided to try this homemade hemp seed butter recipe, and I’m now smitten!

This homemade hemp seed butter recipe requires just ONE ingredient – hulled hemp seeds – and only 5 minutes to prepare! Because hemp seeds have a distinct flavor, I’ve also included a list of flavored hemp seed butter possibilities, as well as methods to incorporate it into foods.

Oh, and as a bonus, I’ve included some hemp seed health benefits to help you understand why you need this organic hemp seed butter in your life!

If you’re wondering why I’m so hooked with hemp seeds, it’s because they’re a nutrient-dense powerhouse of an ingredient! – This is beneficial!

But the primary reason I like them so much is that they are a quick and easy method to add extra protein to any recipe.

With 3g of protein in a tablespoon, hemp seeds are something I can use frequently. They’re not particularly low in calories (as are most nuts and seeds), but I don’t mind because hemp seeds are exceptionally nutritious, and calories are nutrition at the end of the day!

How can hemp Seeds provide aid to your overall health?

Hemp seeds are not only high in protein, but are also high in magnesium, fibre, and low in sodium. One tablespoon of hemp seeds has over 3g of protein.

With the seeds being one of the only Vegan ‘complete protein sources.’ This means they offer all nine necessary amino acids that form up protein, which our bodies cannot create naturally.

Because of its high amino acid content, hemp seeds appear to lessen the risk of heart disease. This lowers blood pressure and inflammation while also providing an excellent amount of healthful omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial to your immune system.

Recipe For Homemade Organic Hemp Seed Butter

I didn’t think making nut/seed butter could be much easier, but this hemp seed butter takes it to the next level. Hemp seeds, unlike many nut butter recipes, do not need to be toasted in the oven before combining!

  • Blend your hemp seeds in a food processor or blender until smooth. I would do this in two-minute intervals to give the machine a rest (and to scrape down the sides on the blender).
  • It should only take 5-6 minutes to make a delightfully smooth hemp seed butter.
  • This procedure may take significantly longer if you’re using a relatively low-powered processor/blender.
  • Once the homemade hemp seed butter is done, store it in an airtight glass jar in the refrigerator for 1 month.

Versatility at its best: Flavoured Hemp Seed Butter Recipes You Could Try

Although hemp seeds have a distinct, nutty flavor, there are several excellent ways to flavor this butter. Many of them are similar to how you’d flavor your favorite nut butter.

As usual, I believe it is crucial to emphasize that – When I prepare big amounts of any nut or seed butter, I avoid adding any additional ingredients that would alter the shelf-life.

  • Add some homemade Vanilla extract or Vanilla powder for a simple, delicious variation.
  • Cinnamon complements almost every nut and seed butter. Yum! (typically in conjunction with a natural sweetener of choice)
  • Add your favorite natural syrup of choice for a simple, sweet version. I’m a big fan of maple syrup.
  • Try making a fantastic chocolate variation using cocoa powder. Everything tastes better when it’s dipped in chocolate!
  • You could always add your favorite herbs and spices, V/ve cheese, or even garlic-infused olive oil to make a savory hemp seed butter and use it as a spread for crackers.

Where and How can we Use Hemp Seed Butter?

Hemp seed butter may be utilized in savory applications such as dressings, drizzles, and sauces. I also add a handful into savory pasta sauces and other dishes for a bit of extra protein without overpowering the flavor.

Hemp seed butter may even be made into delectable hummus! Also, while I haven’t tried it myself, I assume it would work nicely as part of a vegan pesto recipe!

Why not try this homemade hemp seed butter as a drizzle over your morning bowl of porridge, pancakes, or waffles, or spooned into your smoothie or chia pudding dish for some sweet treats?

It may also be used as a seed butter alternative in recipes that call for other nuts/seed jars of butter, such as raw protein bars, energy balls, cookies, cake, brownies, bars, and so on.
